Awful lot of fatalities lately on the Max system
Joe N. Hill, 71, had left his sister's home just 20 minutes earlier for
his nightly walk in the neighborhood before police say he was struck and
killed by a MAX light-rail train Friday night near East Burnside Street
and 160th Avenue.
"I saw his body laying behind the train, wrapped in a tarp it looked
like,'' she said. "I'm still trying to process this. I'm still in shock.
I'm still shaking... Why? Why Lord?''
"Apparently it ran all the way over him,'' she said. "I think he just didn't get across in time. I don't know.''
